Bobson manages a technology tracking system that logs tech ranging from tablets and laptops to echocardiography machines.

Even before the “formal” foundation of RRCU, Bobson played a critical role in UHI’s RHD research and clinical program. Some of his earlier involvement included working with international partners to help establish UHI’s telemedicine program. He notes, “I’ve really enjoyed seeing the impact telemedicine has made in my community and the emphasis this program puts on the screening, prevention, and treatment of RHD in remote poor settings.”  Today, as RRCU’s in-house Technology Lead, Bobson works closely with RRCU’s expert cardiologists, coordinating operations with field research teams, providing technological guidance, and supporting data collection and entry for many of RRCU projects.

As Technology Lead, Bobson oversees the tracking system for the technology used in all RRCU projects and ensures they are operational. Meredith Sherman, a member of Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC works closely with Bobson on the technology tracking system. She notes, “Bobson’s attention to detail, communication skills, and commitment are crucial to the success of these programs and ensure everyone is equipped with resources they need.”

Since becoming involved with RRCU, Bobson has enjoyed developing his skills by engaging with researchers from around the world and applying his skills in information technology and bioinformatics to a variety of projects. Bobson reflects, “I got into RHD research to pursue my research interests, improve my problem-solving skills, and challenge myself with new, highly innovative technology used in the medical field.”

Bobson’s favorite part of RRCU’s work is that the research utilizes technology and innovative ideas to positively impact his community, increase community engagement, and to improve the prevention and treatment of RHD.  Bobson also enjoys seeing and being a part of project workflow, noting, “RHD research has taught me the importance of teamwork, coordination, communication, and the importance of making a plan and sticking to it.”

Thank you Bobson!
