A Thank You to Our Communities, Collaborators and Colleagues
The RRCU is deeply grateful for its extensive partnerships in Uganda and around the world. Locally, community and patient advisory boards provide invaluable input on the design, implementation, and dissemination of all RRCU research. We extend our sincerest appreciation to these groups for their unwavering dedication.
The RRCU is also thankful for the support of the Uganda Heart Institute (UHI), led by Dr. John Omagino, and the Government of Uganda including The Ministry of Health and The Ministry of Education. This collaboration has been critical in establishing Uganda as a premier RHD research site and in ensuring that research outputs translate to practical solutions to benefit public health.
We also thank the research and administrative staff of the RRCU, who drive forward our mission to develop innovative strategies to combat RHD. We commend their creativity, dedication, and forward thinking, which support our mission and drive us higher.
RRCU’s work is made possible by a global network of collaborators, scientists, funders and advisors, many of whom are pictured here, at an RRCU Showcase in Kampala.
Our collaboration with health providers enables RRCU’s life-saving work to reach populations throughout the nation.
The operation of our work is made possible through the generous funding from private donors and international research groups such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), American Heart Association, Edwards Life Sciences, Heart Healers International, Gift of Life International, the Karp Family Foundation, Huron Philanthropies, and the Thrasher Research Fund, among others. Our work would not be possible without this support.
We also extend our gratitude to our founding partners, sponsors, and scientific team for their steadfast support and innovation. Collaboration lies at the core of our endeavors, as we bring together practitioners from various institutions worldwide. Our interdisciplinary approach has enabled us to address the multifaceted challenges of RHD comprehensively.
RRCU is grateful for its partnership with the Uganda Heart Institute and Director Dr. Omagino’s (center) leadership.
The RRCU remains committed to broad partnership and welcomes new ideas and engagement with people living with RHD, communities, clinicians, researchers, policy and advocacy experts, and Ministries of Health. We are steadfast in our commitment to reduce the burden of RHD not only in Uganda but also across Africa and globally and welcome anyone who shares this mission to join us. We are stronger when we come together. Thank you!
The RRCU’s administrative team helps advance RRCU’s mission and move our projects forward by maintaining the group’s infrastructure and operations.
